Study Visit to the University of Jaén (Spain)

First Vice-Rector Artem Pavlychenko and Professor of the Department of Surface Mining Oleksii Lozhnikov took part in a training visit to the University of Jaén (Linares, Spain). 

During the visit, several key activities were conducted:

Visits to modern laboratories, where participants observed state-of-the-art equipment and technologies used in environmental science and mineral resource management. 

Review of research platforms, providing insights into the practical aspects of the field and the alignment of educational programs with current industry demands and challenges.

In addition to representatives from Dnipro University of Technology, the study visit was attended by partner universities:

1. University of Jaén (Spain) 

2. Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University (Ukraine) 

3. State Institution of Higher Education Donetsk National Technical University (Ukraine) 

4. Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University (Kazakhstan) 

5. Tashkent State Technical University named after Abu Raikhman Beruni (Uzbekistan) 

The study visit explored the experience of European Union universities in teaching mining and environmental disciplines, including curricula, course programs, laboratory facilities, equipment used, and the use of online educational platforms.

A further action plan was developed for the implementation of activities under the Erasmus+ project "Master’s Program in Engineering Eco-Mining and Innovative Natural Resource Management" (EMINReM).

The next steps in the project implementation include the development and integration of new disciplines into the master's programs at Dnipro University of Technology in 2024-2025, based on the courses taught at leading European resource universities.
